Get Your Story Published

WHAT:
Publisher, Tahoe Nation, is seeking submissions for, “We Bike Tahoe”, a “collection” of short stories, micro-essays, poems or flash fiction contributed by multiple writers about bicycling, (mountain, road, cruiser, BMX, etc.), in the Lake Tahoe region. The “collection” shall be produced, published and marketed for sale at retail, online, through bicycle / environmental advocacy organizations and other channels deemed appropriate.

WHO:
Writers: Anyone may submit a story for consideration whose content is about bicycling in the Lake Tahoe region.
Publisher: Tahoe Nation Publishing

HOW:
Submissions should be no longer than 500 words for consideration. Publisher shall notify Writers of story acceptance and receive an agreement describing publishing terms and conditions for their review and approval. Writers shall agree to grant Publisher the right to publish their story as part of the “collection” for the purpose of producing, publishing, marketing and selling the “collection”, and understand they will not receive financial compensation for their work. However, Writers shall receive a short biography (written by them) to be included in the published “collection”, their story copyright is reverted back to them upon publishing, and they receive a copy of the “collection” at no charge. Additionally, Writers may purchase copies of the “collection” at a discount from the published retail price.

WHEN:
Submission Deadline is September 10, 2016
Proposed publishing date: late fall 2016

WHY:
Bicycling in Tahoe is a beautiful, exciting and intimate experience for many who live and visit here. The area’s eco-system of majestic mountain vistas, crystalline waterways, abundant forests, thriving wildlife and hundreds of miles of bike trails are equally matched with a community filled with creative residents, events, a rich historical heritage, and a diverse offering of entertainment, lodging and shopping — all to be experienced from a bicycle.

Writers contributing their story to the “collection” will share with others how bicycling in Tahoe inspires, moves, and excites them. These shared thoughts and experiences can help give vibrancy, meaning and identity to the community’s character that may well inspire others to ride a bicycle in Tahoe.
