2016 Bike Fund Mini Grant Program

Bike Fund Purpose:

Team Tahoe, a 501 c 3 nonprofit corporation, has established the Bike Fund Mini-Grant Program. The purpose of this program is to provide mini-grant seed money to non-profit organizations working to help build and maintain a more bicycle-friendly community in the Tahoe region.

Criteria for Eligibility

Bike Fund Mini-Grant applications are available to community organizations serving the Lake Tahoe area, in one of the five Bike Tahoe regions, and meets the following criteria:

  • Helps build or maintain native surface single track trails and/or shared-used bike paths
  • Helps provide bicycle facilities (i.e. bike racks, way finding signage, etc.) to encourage bicycle use among residents and visitors
  • Helps provide a match for other grant applications

The Bike Fund Mini-Grants are designed to provide marginal assistance in the building and maintaining of a more bicycle-friendly community.

Grant Eligible Expenses

  • Trail building equipment (tools, equipment rental)
  • Way finding signage
  • Bicycle racks, bike corrals, secure storage
  • Public bike art
  • Bicycle safety education materials, including helmets for children

Grant Ineligible Expenses – Not a complete list

  • Production and printing of promotion materials: brochures, flyers, posters
  • Advertising: print or digital
  • Special events
  • Salaries
  • Operational overhead: Rent, utilities, telephone
  • Vehicle expense: Fuel, payments, maintenance, etc.
  • Food, beverage, entertainment, transportation
